In a glorious closing ceremony on Sunday, the 5th Optimist Cup - Nikos Sarkavazis Trophy came to an end at the Nautical Club of Palaio Faliro.

In spite of the inclement weather as there was lack of wind, more than 250 young sailors from Greece, Cyprus, France, Ukraine and Australia proved that despite their young age they managed to cope with every difficult condition they had to face during the races with great respect and knowledge.

The young sailors having defeated the light weather conditions came out of the water with a smile on their faces, full of sailing experiences that will be useful in the future.

During these three days - from 15th to 17th of November - there was a huge sailing celebration at Palaio Faliro, with lots of surprises for the future Olympic medalists.

Partners and sponsors of this year's Sarikavazis Trophy event were Marine Pool, Demetrios Oikonomou from Oikonomou Organizing and Promotion and Metropolitan Hospital.

Special credits to the coaches of the club to the race committee and, last but not least, to the Principal Race Officer Mr Kosta Manthos who did his best on the water to make this trophy happen.

Hope to see you again on the new dates of the 6th Sarikavazis Trophy which are going to be from 14th to 16th of February.
