This Sunday sees the first round of the legendary Blithfield Barrel Series. The first race of this 'must do' event starts at 12, with an abundance of spot prizes thanks to our generous sponsors Harken, Hartley Boats, Birmingham Dinghy Services, Freedom Brewery and Creation Covers.

Blithfield Newbie Nick Williams sailing Finn GBR14, 'Nothing, Toulouse' from Staunton Harold Sailing Club is getting ready for his first Barrel appearance!

"A week to go before my first Blithfield Barrel! I'd just taken up sailing again after a long hiatus and I'm having a great time racing a Laser at Staunton Harold Sailing Club, when my brother-in-law Pete; a big bloke who sails a Finn and crews an Osprey told me that I was going to sail his Finn at the Blithfield Barrel!

"I didn't like to refuse as he said that racing the Finn would be easier than not accepting his offer! Having been away from the racing scene for a while, I asked around and quickly found out that this is a really competitive Winter handicap series, on a great piece of water hosted by a welcoming and friendly club! So training prep started for me, which included eating a few more pies, in an attempt to make the transition from Laser to Finn, after all if Sir Ben could do it why can't I?!"

First race 12.00 noon 24th November 2019!

See you on the Water!
