The Ocean Race will start from Alicante, Spain in the autumn of 2021 and finish in Europe in early summer of 2022. There will be up to nine stopover ports (listed here).

As previously announced The Ocean Race will be contested in two divisions, the new IMOCA60, fully crewed version, and the existing VO65 one design which was used for the last two editions of the Volvo Ocean Race.

Here's a couple of videos showing what can be expected from the IMOCA60 and a look back at the highlights of the 2017/18 Volvo Ocean Race - the first to make serious use of drone cameras and give fans a view never before seen of the VO65's racing far from the reach of land.
