Tulane Sailing rolls to win in SEISA Fall Women's Regatta

Recording five first-place finishes in six races on Sunday, the Tulane sailing team came out victorious in the 2019 SEISA Fall Women's Regatta.
"The ladies had a great day. Our plan was to keep it conservative and simple early so we weren't fighting back later in the event," head coach Charles Higgins said. "The girls did a great job of executing that plan and were able to turn it up a bit at the end to close out the regatta strongly. This weekend really helped us showcase the depth our team has developed. I'm very pleased overall, especially knowing we are only going to get stronger from here."
The Green Wave totaled 24 points in 12 total races between the A and B Divisions, defeating Texas with 37 and Loyola with 65.
Skipper Cam Farrah and crew Lydia Brown sailed in the A Division races, standing in first with 13 total points. The duo started slow with third- and fourth-place finishes before coming back to finish with two first-place and two second-place results to end the day on top.
The Olive and Blue's B Division boat finished first overall in the regatta, as skipper Alanna Austin teamed up with crews Kat Byrnes and Katie Cartiglia to total 11 points. The team won three races, also adding two second-place finishes and one fourth-place standing.
Tulane is back in action next weekend, heading to Marblehead, Massachusetts to compete in the ICSA Match Race National Championship from Friday to Sunday.
