24 RS Aeros took to the water in Seattle for the Puget Sound Sailing Championships. This is the local championship regatta for small sail boats and this year included RS Aeros, J24s and Tasars.

RS Aero momentum is building in the USA's Pacific Northwest as the 4th RS Aero World Championship at the Columbia River Gorge in 2020 draws closer.

Interestingly over the nine race series that allowed no discards, nobody won more than 1 race! There were nine race winners! Michael Johnson secured the win with an impressively consistent score line.

Derek Bottles summarised, 'In mostly light winds. It was an incredibly hard series, no one could put together a string of top 3 scores, each race had a different winner and most sailors had more than a fair share of double digit scores along the way. Mike Johnson did the best job cutting his loses early or making gains late to take the well deserved win.'

With Michael Johnson claiming the 2019 regatta title there are now five different RS Aero winners over the past five years as the local RS Aero fleet evolves! Two sailors from the Seattle RS Aero fleet, Derek Bottles and Andy Mack, are set represent the region when they travel to Australia this winter to compete in Port Philip Bay for the 3rd RS Aero World Championship.
