Both the temperature and the competition are hotting up in Australia for the RS Aeros. The first event of the season has kicked off at Sail Sandy hosted at Sandringham YC just down the shore from Black Rock, the venue of the 3rd RS Aero Worlds in just over two months time. 16 RS Aeros took part as the fleet gathers momentum in the run up to the big champs.

Sail Sandy 2019 was a great success with the weather gods giving sailors plenty to cheer about. Every class ended up with the full allocation of races and the sea breeze made life easy for the race committee.

Rhett Gowans put in a dominant performance in the RS Aero 7s with Michael O'Brien taking a clear 2nd from Michael Case in 3rd. Top Lady and RS Aero 5 was Sophie Jackson who came in 5th overall, just ahead of Megan Ridgway's RS Aero 7 in 6th, once the YS/PYs were applied. Jason Wilson finished first RS Aero 9.

Next up for the Aussie RS Aeros is the 'Sail Country' regatta at Albury Wodonga YC on 2/3 Nov on the border of VIC/NSW followed by the RS Aero Australian National Championships on 30 Nov / 1 Dec at the 'Go for Gold' regatta at Black Rock YC for an excellent warm up event to the World Champs there a month later.

Full details of the Australian RS Aero events can be found on the Class Events List.
