It is with great pleasure that the Andrew Simpson Foundation (ASF) has accepted the kind invitation from MS Amlin Boat Insurance, the title sponsor of the Yachting Journalists' Dinner for Yachtsman of the Year, to attend as their charity of choice for the evening.

MS Amlin has been a long-term supporter of the ASF, who work to transform lives through sailing through charitable activities. This is especially appropriate this year, as the Dinner for the Awards is on the eve of Bart's Bash. This two-day event is the flagship annual event of the ASF, inspired by Olympic Gold and Silver medalist Andrew 'Bart' Simpson MBE, who passionately believed that everyone should have the chance to try sailing and enjoy the many benefits that it brings. It has also become the largest mass participation sailing race in the world coinciding with the opening weekend of Southampton International Boat Show, which runs from 13th - 22nd September.

Keith Lovett, Senior Underwriter at MS Amlin said, "We are delighted to support the YJA Dinner for Yachtsman of the Year Awards, and especially pleased that the Andrew Simpson Foundation will be joining us just ahead of their Bart's Bash weekend, where I understand that 25 countries will be represented. That is an amazing achievement as the weekend will start in Australia and finish in the USA and Canada, via Hong Kong, India, the Caribbean and South America. We very much look forward to hearing how many people around the globe are taking part as it is a weekend for the sailing community to come together."

Richard Percy, CEO at the Andrew Simpson Foundation added, "We are very honoured to be a part of such a prestigious dinner with the YJA and MS Amlin and look forward to hearing who the winners of the awards are. It is particularly exciting just ahead of Bart's Bash where anyone who sails from grass roots to the greatest, all come together around the world to take part in a race at their local venue on the same date."
