Blue Guard Innovations (BGI) announced today that Maritime Systems Australia is now a distributor of BGI products.

The BGI range of solid-state smart switches and sensors detect water as well as oil and fuel spills in the bilge and engine compartments, preventing them from accidentally discharging overboard.

"BGI products tick all the boxes in our market," said marine industry veteran Steve Parsons, owner of Maritime Systems Australia. "Leisure boat owners and commercial vessel operators alike are keenly aware of the importance of protecting environmentally sensitive zones such as the Great Barrier Reef, major harbors and other designated World Heritage Areas throughout Australia," Steve added.

The BGI range includes the multiple award-winning BG-One Smart Bilge Pump Switch (shown here).

The BG-One is a winner of the Pittman Innovation 2019 Award in the Systems category. It was also the winner of the product innovation award in the Mechanical Systems category at IBEX in October 2018 and received a Special Mention from the DAME Design Award 2018 judges in the machinery, propulsion, mechanical and electrical systems and fittings category at METSTRADE in November of last year.

The BGI range also includes the BG-Link Wireless Boat Monitoring System, which will be demonstrated in the BGI booth, 3-2127, at IBEX 2019 in Tampa, October 1-3.

The BG-Link gateway and sensors monitor battery banks, high water alarms, bilge pump activations, oil and fuel detectors, fire alarms, temperature, AC shore power connections and security sensors. The system is available with no subscription fee in its Wifi configuration.
