We invite 29er and RS Feva sailors from all over the world to come and race in our National event.

The event is open to up to 18 teams in 29er and 16 teams in RS Feva.

Come in New Caledonia (22 degreesS; 166 degreesE)! New Caledonia is a beautiful French island situated between Australia and New Zealand. Noumea, the capital, is less than 3 hours by plane from Sydney and Auckland.

From October 13th to 20th 2019: Training and racing on the lagoon. New Caledonia is the perfect place to sail, trade winds blow almost every day and the sea temperature is 25 degreesC.

The CNC yacht club have 10 29er boats and 8 new RS Feva boats. You don't need to organize the transport of your boat: The use of our boats is included in the entry fee - (XPF 75 000 about AUD 1000 and just over NZD 1000). Competitors just need to bring their own sails. We are sharing our boats.

Program:

From October 13th to 15th: Three days to improve your skills.

We are organizing training sessions to improve your sailing by sharing experiences with the other teams.

After a day off, the Competition will be from 17 to 20 October: Each team will race at least half a day.

From October 17th to 20th: Four days regatta: for local sailors, it is the National Championship

Two options:

  • If less than 10 entries, the regatta will be raced as a normal fleet race.
  • If more than 10 entries and up to 20 entries, the regatta will be raced in-group races.

In the second option, the regatta will be as follows:

  • Stage One: Qualifications: groups will race against each other in a round robin.
  • Stage Two: finals

The New Caledonia Optimist Championship will also be held in Noumea at the same time. 60 sailors from New Caledonia, Australia, New Zealand and Tahiti are also expected. Both events will be based at the same venue and social events will be organized for all competitors.

Facilities:

Accommodation: Local sailors will host overseas sailors in their homes, or we can provide boats in our marina for competitors over 18 who would prefer it.

Lunch: Lunch boxes will be available and must be ordered and paid for in advance.

Breakfast and dinner will be provided by host families.

We look forward to seeing you in New Caledonia in October.
