After the success of the 100-boat European Championships held in July, we have seen the class racing circuit explode around the world.

We kick off with some smaller events that have popped up this season. The newly-formed Canadian fleet has now found its feet with the first Canadian championships being held August 23-25th with twelve boats competing. Then we shifted focus to the Scottish Nationals where another solid fleet convened for an awesome weekend on and off the water.

As we progress we have two major events happening that may be seen on next years proposed Euro Cup Circuit. The Norwegian WASZP Championships had over 30 entries being hosted in Larvik, Eliot Savelon from the Netherlands took the win from Alexander Hogheim and Swedish sailor Oscar Andersson. After this event we then move onto Santander in Spain where 15-25 boats are expected with 15 entries already. Santander is an amazing location with the town right behind sailing, providing free entry and free accommodation.

As we look towards the end of the Northern hemisphere season we have a couple of great events to round out the season. The USA Nationals will be held at Oakcliff sailing center, with a large fleet expected, ahead of next years tier 2 event the American Championships at Charleston in April.

In the southern hemisphere AUS/NZ and South America are all looking for large event seasons, in Australia there are many smaller events on the lead up to Christmas across the three states Victoria, New South Wales and Western Australia culminating in the National Championships at Port Stephens 24-27th January 2020. In New Zealand a similar format is being followed with strong numbers sailing across winter, a host of smaller events will lead into the 2020 National Championships at Bay of Islands 14-17th of February.

This events all provide valuable on-water time and experience as we head towards the 2020 International WASZP Games in Malcesine, Lake Garda, Italy.
