The practice race for the 48 boats from Canada, USA, England and not least the Shetland Isles, today was started in a cracking northerly breeze but was abandoned after one lap due to the sea breeze interrupting the land breeze. The latter, while it lasted, gave some great planing reaches in bright sunshine. First races start tomorrow.
