The third day of the 2019 Rolex Fastnet Race has seen the start of arrivals in the monohull fleet. First held in 1925, the race is one of the preeminent stages for offshore racing and the 48th edition is living up to its legendary status.

For the second consecutive race, George David and the crew of the 27-metre (88-foot) Maxi yacht Rambler have secured the Line Honours trophy in the Rolex Fastnet Race, missing out on the race record by one hour, 16 minutes. Finishing the 605nm course in one day, 19 hours, 55 minutes, the American yacht Rambler held off her closest rivals, SHK Scallywag from Hong Kong and Wizard from the USA.

With line honours resolved, attention has turned to the overall win on handicap. Wizard currently holds pole position and, with challenging wind and sea conditions, in the Celtic Sea, those still racing with an eye on the main prize will have to exhibit all the determination and perseverance that have characterised the race down the years.

Rolex has partnered the event, organised by the Royal Ocean Racing Club, since 2001 and the biennial race is a core element in the Swiss Watchmaker's six-decade-long association with the sport of yachting.
