Europe Open Week has started with two races, a competition that is part of the Europe Class World Championship held in the waters of the CN El Balís.

At midday, after the warning signal, the 80 participants took to the waters with a wind speed of 11 to 13 knots which stayed constant throughout the day's racing.

Anna Livbjerg was second in the first race and first in the second race, giving her a 5 point advantage over the second placed sailor, Norwegian Lars Johan Brod Tkorb. The provisional podium is completed by the Catalan Pau Schil Catafal, from the Garraf Yacht Club.

In this competition, continuing until August 2nd, 80 sailors from ten countries compete to obtain a place in the World Championship to be held also in El Balís from August 5th to 9th.

The Open Week has a big Spanish fleet of 46 sailors, 14 of whom represent the CN El Balís. The vast majority of the sailors come from European countries, except for three who represent Colombia and Brazil.
