A warm and sunny day with a light south westerly greeted the 7 visitors and 16 home boats on Sunday 18th June as they lined up on the start for the Open meeting at Aldenham.

The light shifty wind gave rise to some significant changes of fortune throughout the day. The first race was dominated by Alan Bishop and Andy Omasta who quickly built up a commanding lead over the rest of the fleet. Alan gruadually pulled away from Andy to win with Steve Fischer third.

The second race followed a similar pattern, but this time Andy Omasta after a close fought race finished ahead of AlanBishop.

Thus the result hinged on the last race. This was again hotly contested by Andy and Alan with the lead changing several times. On the final lap, however, after a close quarters incident Andy took two penalty turns which allowed Alan through to win the race and with it the event for the second year running.
