After the exciting spring series of 18 races early this year, seven boats qualified for the world team. To kick start their training in preparation for the 2019 Cadet World Championships in Poland they had their first two days training at Grafham with the new RYA cadet team coach Ben Hazeldine.

The team has also had one Sunday at Felixstowe ferry sailing club with Amy Seabright, a former Cadet sailor before returning back to Grafham for their final training day before travelling out to Poland.

The Cadet World Team would like to thank Felixstowe Ferry Sailing Club for their hospitality and generous use of facilities and delicious cheesy chips! The sunny weather, chop and lightish breezes are expected to be quite similar to conditions out in Poland in just over a weeks time at the Worlds. The conditions were definitely perfect. Hopefully the warm welcome, facilities and beautiful views will also be similar to what we received at FFSC.

The training focused on boatspeed through chop under the watchful eye of coach Amy Seabright with the competitors appreciating being out on open water after an exciting tow around the bar in the big waves. Parents not on the water were quite happy to stay in the vicinity of a different bar. Conditions at both were reported to be 'slight to moderate', befitting a Sunday afternoon.

The team would also like to thank Grafham Sailing club for their excellent support to the class. Grafham is a regular favourite of the Cadet class hosting many events including the final 2019 World Team Selector, the first, and this weekend third and final World Team training events.

We wish Ben and the Team good luck and all success in Poland in just over a weeks' time.
