The EMU 2 Race is a two-race series that takes place within Scarborough's South Bay.
The trophy is sponsored by Fugro-EMU, a marine environmental services company
carrying out marine geoconsulting research, and the races conducted each year in
early summer.
In steady North Easterly winds, six
competitors set out on the second of the two-race series. The winds provided fast reach
sailing but did have the ability to complicate sailing when changing course. Run under
SYC handicapping, the race and Series winner was 'Kassy' owned by Holder, Williams
and Hutchinson.
Results:
1st - Kassy, a Hydro, owned by Holder, Williams and Hutchinson.
2nd - Dash, a Sadler 34, owned by Martin Donelly
3rd - Zeris, a Sonata, owned by Brian Sizer
There was one retirement.
