Rock Sailing & Water Ski Club hosted and ran a highly successful DayBoat Week for the YWDB class who were celebrating 70 years since the original 1949 design was launched.

A very competitive fleet of 28 boats raced in the beautiful Camel Estuary over the 22nd-28th June. This constitutes the class's National Championships.

All the major DB fleets were represented with boats from Poole, Bosham Thornbury, Gravesend and Royal Cork.

Race officer Chris Creak and his team ran an excellent series of races with a different course layout each day.

Colin Blewett from Poole YC dominated the racing winning the first three points races and following up with a third place to secure the overall title with one race to spare. In most races however he did it the hard way by working his way up from mid fleet to secure his wins.

Runner-up Michael Hewitt sailed a highly consistent series never finishing out of the top 3 in every race and including a win in Race 4.
