Great sailing in Malcesine for day 4 of the J/70 European Championship. Thanks to excellent weather conditions the fleet managed to complete four races.

The day's stars were the Italians of L'elagain, with Franco Solerio at the helm and Tactician Daniele Cassinari, with a strong performance in the previous series of races, placing them in the lead for the championship. The day's bullets, alongside L'elagain, belong to Mauro Mocheggiani's Rush Diletta 2.0, the Spaniards of Josè Maria Torcida's Noticia and the Americans of Catapult.

The general classification sees the L'elagain in the lead with 20 points, followed by Claudia Rossi's Petite Terrible with 32 points and the Spaniards of Real Club Nautico De Gran Canaria, with Gustavo Martinez Doreste at the helm, with 32 points. The Spanish crew of Luis Perez Canal's Abril Verde returns to command the Corinthian division (38 points), followed by Gianfranco Noè and White Hawk (81 points) and the Swedish team of Oscal Lundqvist's Hilda of (104 points).

Quote from Franco Solerio, Helmsman of L'elagain: "Difficult, complicated, beautiful: we managed to start freely and manage the regatta as we wanted. The lake knows how to give joy but also worries... it is difficult to sail to the right of the coast, with so many strange gusts of wind, but we handled it well and the day was extremely positive. The boat is working well, we are in good shape, we need to stay focused, get out of the starting line well... we can't do calculations."

The classification of the Silver fleet, which finished three races, has Enjoy 1.0 by Carlo Tomelleri firmly in the lead with 13-3-1-3-1-1 for the series. Stefano Nicolussi is in second place with Vivace (7-2-3-6-2-2), while the Spanish team of Patakin (5-9-13-1-18-5) occupies the lowest step of the podium. The Corinthian division has CompuTel's Russians in the lead, with Andrey Samoylov at the helm.

The Race Committee chaired by Giancarlo Crevatin has set the time for the first warning signal for tomorrow at 11.00 hours.

J/70 Italian Class is sponsored for the 2019 season by Henri Lloyd, Official Clothing Partner, and by Armare Ropes, Garmin, Key One, IMAC Technologies, Girmi, Serena Wines and Powerade.
