Organised by the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, the Nord Stream Race is beginning on June 22nd from Kiel in conjunction with the Kiel Week - the biggest sailing event in the world and the largest summer festival in northern Europe for 136 years now.

The following legs are Copenhagen (June 24th-25th), Stockholm (June 28th-30th), Helsinki (July 2nd-3rd), ending the regatta in St. Petersburg on July 5th, with the prize-giving ceremony at the prestigious St. Petersburg Yacht Club.

Based on the philosophy of 'Connecting Baltics through Sports', each stopover includes a busy schedule of meetings and events for business people and sports fans. The inshore races courses are in iconic places so that fans and guests can follow the action from the shore.

This year marked the eighth edition of the Nord Stream Race and the third time ClubSwan 50s are racing in these courses.

The fleet is representing five European Yacht Clubs, namely:

  • Åländska Segelsällskapet (FIN)
  • Kongelig Dansk Yachtklub (DEN)
  • Kungliga Svenska Segelsällskapet (SWE)
  • Leviathan Sailing Team (RUS)
  • Norddeutscher Regatta Verein (GER)

Mr. Giovanni Pomati, Nautor's Swan Group CEO, comments: "Building in Finland, we are proud to be part of the Nord Stream Race, a regatta that embraces the northern part of Europe, that is Nautor's Swan's cradle. We are based in Pietarsaari where we have just had an extension of the Boatbuilding Technology Center (BTC). Granting us a better organization, logistic operations, a gain in efficiency and quality for us at Nautor's.

A great number of Swan owners is located in northern Europe and the interest in our brand is still growing there. This is the reason why we aim to contribute to the relaunch of racing events and rendezvous in that area."

The Nord Stream Race is part of The Nations Trophy North European League. The winner will have the chance to participate in the final event of the season, The Nations Trophy which will be held in Palma de Mallorca in October (8th to 12th). More than 40 Swan One Design yachts are expected to attend the regatta representing around 15 countries.
