Nearly 50 A Class catamarans took "flight" on this first sunny weekend in June on Garda Trentino for the first day of the European Spring Championship organized by the Circolo Vela Arco. equipped for almost all of the foil and therefore able to lift themselves out of the water, they respected what was expected in terms of entertainment.

Three races were held in a succession of windward and downwind legs in a single sausage and three victories to say the least of Heemskerk Mischa (NED 7), which gave enormous distances to the opponents. The Dutch sailor was able to gain really important advantages thanks to his ability to get up from the water by sailing on foils and reaching a speed triple some of his opponents, so for him there was no history in all three races, while the immediate pursuers are equal in score: with a fifth and two seconds follows the Argentine (with sail AUS 88) Sergio Mehl, flanked by a 2-4-3 from the Greek (GRE 1) Kostantinos Trigkonis. First Italian Paolo Penco (Nautical Association Sebina), absolute ninth and protagonist of an excellent fourth in the third and last race of the day.

The Dutchman Thijs Visser and the Czech Vladislav Ptasnik could also approach the podium, considering their respective 12-6 and 9-13 followed by a withdrawal (available after the fourth test). Sunday, second and last day of the event with departure decided by the Race Committee, at 12:00 and three other races scheduled.
