Sixteen RS Aeros were greeted by a blustery spring morning at Yorkshire Dales SC for round 3 of the RS Aero UK Northern Circuit.

An air of trepidation and excitement filled the dinghy park as they rigged and the sailors were rewarded by some fantastic down-winds in the squalls with a white knuckle run and a ballistically fast second reach. Fortunately Paul Hargreaves was on hand to catch the action with his excellent photographs, framed by the majestic backdrop of the moors.

A consistent series by Matt Thursfield of Chelmarsh SC took the event overall. The other race winners on the breezy Saturday where Richard Green with two wins and Steve Stewart who was looking good in his RS Aero 5. This left them tied for second overall and the tie break falling in Richard's favour.

Sunday was lighter, giving some variety for the final two races of the series. This produced two new race winners in Jamie Rastrick and Keith Escritt.

Thanks to YDSC for being splendid hosts, as ever, and to Paul Hargreaves for his excellent photos. See Paul's full gallery here.

Next up on the RS Aero UK Northern Circuit are the back-to-back events at Huddersfield and Scammonden SCs on the 8th and 9th June before a trip to the seaside to enjoy the RS Aero UK Northern Champs at the Filey Regatta on 29/30th June. Full details can be found on the RS Aero UK Events List.
