RS Tera Northern Traveller Series at Leigh & Lowton Sailing Club

The first of the 2019 RS Tera North Traveller Series was held together with the North Feva Open at Leigh & Lowton SC. A total of 24 boats took to the water over the weekend in changeable conditions. Great racing from all the sailors and race teams from Leigh & Lowton.

A favourable NW wind enabled four races to be run on the Saturday, with very light wind forecast for Sunday. With racing postponed on the Sunday morning there was on the water fun in the club kayaks and Toppers. The wind finally filled in to allow the final two races to be completed in the afternoon.

Nathaniel Pritchard Jones from Leigh & Lowton SC took first Pro place with Ffion Bailey from Port Dinorwic SC finishing second place only 2 points behind. Third Pro was James Barraclough from Shropshire SC.

The Sport fleet saw Jac Bailey from Port Dinorwic SC finish first place in all six races, fantastic consistency in the changing conditions. It was close for second and third place, John Bridgeman from Leigh & Lowton SC taking second place and Rebecca Green from Derwent Reservoir SC finishing third.

The Northern Fevas joined in the open meeting with first place Oliver Rayner & Matthew Rayner, second Place Esme Barraclough & Tom Johnson and third place Beth Miller & Tilda Brayshaw all from Yorkshire Dales SC.

Magic Marine Optimist and Tera Round Hayling Race
54 competitors enjoy the revived event originally from the 1980s Hayling Island Sailing Club (HISC) hosted the revival of the Round Hayling Island Race on Sunday 24th August 2025. P&B Northamptonshire Youth Series at Draycote
As ever the first timers received the most applause as their medals were awarded A bumper turnout of 41 sailors arrived at Draycote for round 4 of the Northampton Youth Series sponsored by Pinnell and Bax.
