Entries for the 2019 National Championships close on 31st May 2019 and after this date there will be no opportunity to enter or swap entries. You cannot enter on the day!

Entries are currently at 97 so if you thinking of joining us get your entry in NOW to join our extremely competitive but friendly fleet for a fantastic weekend of racing in Paignton from 28th - 30th June.

For those of you that don't know Paignton, is a fantastic place to sail situated on the English Riviera in Torbay. The Supernovas had a fantastic event there in 2015 and we are very excited to go back to this friendly venue.

Launching/recovery is off a beach with good boat storage on Paignton Green. Expect even more improvements to the very popular buddy groups, so even if you haven't attended before you will be supported by some more experienced helms.

In addition to what will no doubt be some amazing sailing, there will be a Commodore's buffet on the Friday evening to ensure everyone has a good time. The Nationals isn't just about the top few sailors, we want everyone to have a great time and really enjoy the social side of things. We hope this encourages some new faces to attend, regardless of their sailing ability. There will also be tickets available for other halves, again we hope this encourages a bigger and more inclusive event.

We asked Frank McMullen (61st in 2018 nationals) what he loves about the event and he said: "What can you not love about the Supernova Nationals... good venues, great racing, fantastic social evenings and best of all, meeting old friends and making new ones."

We look forward to seeing you there and please spread the word around your club members to see if we can get to the magic 100 mark again.

Please note that if you enter and are no longer able to attend then the Association will allow you to swap your entry with someone (which you will need to find) up to 31 May 2019, but we need to be informed of this. We are not offering any refunds, sorry. Also within 4 weeks of the event it is too late for us to amend entries, so we cannot allow swaps then. We appreciate this is a "hard line" but we have had to take this following some issues arising as part of a previous entry.

Pea-souper fog lifts in time for some afternoon racing Sunday dawned with a pea-souper fog and light winds dimming down the initial enthusiasm for going racing. The local weather expert (I looked up XCWeather) predicted it would lift by 1pm which thankfully it did. Posted on 22 Jul

An impressive 88 despite a change of venue It wasn't that long ago that the Supernova fleet were excited for their upcoming visit to Plymouth for the 2025 national championships. Sadly things weren't to be with some overrunning building work unfortunately leaving us without a venue. Posted on 5 Jul
Supernova Nationals 2025 at the WPNSA Day 2
Have you ever put a blindfold on and run as fast as you can? Have you ever put a blindfold on and run as fast as you can? No? Neither have I, but I imagine it was a bit like sailing at Weymouth today. We had 3 great races in Portland harbour in what can only be described as a spooky mist. Posted on 28 Jun

Strong wind opening day for the nearly 90-strong fleet It has been a long time since the Supernova fleet visited Weymouth, last time we were here I don't think the impressive WPNSA was even built. We were excited to be back and join the 505s for a few days on the water. Posted on 27 Jun

Craftinsure Supernova Northern Travellers at Filey
Most boats launched but a fair few returned once they saw the real conditions Friday 16th May saw the first boats arriving to be set up on the beach for the annual Filey Regatta. The forecast was for some daily strong winds. Filey Brigg would offer some shelter for launching but there was bound to be a swell past the Brigg. Posted on 21 May
