Yachts will converge on Cowes from east and west for the fourth VPRS Nationals on 26 May.
Staged as part of the International Paints Poole Regatta, the third event in Poole last year attracted 20 entries and produced not only the VPRS Champion for 2019, but the overall regatta winner, attracting widespread press coverage. This year's event is expected to be bigger and better.
The regatta takes place on Sunday 26th May during the late May Bank Holiday weekend. Entry is open to all yachts with a 2019 VPRS certificate. Event-only certificates will be free for visitors, so this will be a great opportunity to get to know VPRS.
Hotspots for VPRS are Poole, Weymouth and Plymouth in the west and Chichester in the east. Last year the Nationals were organised by Poole; this year it's the turn of Chichester Cruiser Racing Club.
Prizes are being sponsored by Poole Sailing and the event starts on Saturday night with a regatta supper at the Island Sailing Club.
"The Nationals offers competitive sailing in a relaxed atmosphere with a variety of courses and a party every night" says CCRC Commodore Bob Garrett. "It's a great chance to enjoy a Central Solent regatta with minimum hassle."
