2019 POSH Preview - 8th edition of the Paignton Open for Single Handers

by James Ripley 25 Apr 2019 10:49 BST 11-12 May 2019

2019 will see the eighth edition of Paignton Sailing Club's flagship POSH regatta (Paignton Open for Single Handers) over the weekend of 11th-12th May.

Aimed at performance single handed dinghies with a PY of 1200 or lower, this event has always been a firm favourite for many classes. This year is looking like it's going to be even bigger and better with almost 100 entries already received from a wide variety of classes including Moths, International Canoes, D-Ones, Contenders, RS300s, Phantoms, RS100s, Blazes, D-Zeros, Hadron H2s, Finns, K1s, Supernovas, Solutions, OKs, Bytes, Europes, Solos, RS Aeros and Lasers.

This year, for the first time ever, POSH is also incorporating the RS Vareo UK National Championships. Three races for the Vareos will take place on the Friday, before the fleet join the main regatta over the weekend.

Online entry is still open but to avoid disappointment please enter by 4th May as we may not be able to accept entries after this date. Entry fees are not payable until registration and include a free meal on the Saturday night in the club room.

The event is kindly sponsored by Sailing Chandlery who are the number one rated sailing company on TrustPilot.

Paignton SC is famous for it's friendly and welcoming atmosphere and professional race management. We have hosted many large championships over the years so we are well practiced! Racing takes place on the challenging but sheltered waters of Tor Bay with quality sailing guaranteed in all tide states and wind directions.

Further details can be found on our POSH webpage or the event's Facebook page.
