The Unimer Marine Drainman Bilge Pump is, in our opinion at least, one of those ideas! I'm sure we have all spent more time than we would want bailing water from boats in order to help keep it dry and afloat. This little invention is now on its second generation and we are proud to be distributing this eco-friendly product.
How it works
As the product branding itself states clearly, this bilge pump is "Powered by Nature". Connect the pump to your mooring line and boat, weigh down the hose in the lowest point of the boat and from there, nature takes care of the rest. The tugs on the mooring line created by the wind, surf and waves allow the hose to suck up the water before it is pumped out. This means the pump is continuously working alongside nature and will never fail like an electric pump might.
Drainman facts
Drainman is made with tough materials, and can withstand forces up to 15,000 Newton. The pump works around the clock and can pump up to 2,500 litres of water every twenty-four hours. Drainman is self-priming and has a suction height of up to 2.5 metres, and a suction length of up to 8 metres.
Drainman is handy to carry, easy to install and lock into place. It can be fitted to mooring lines fore, aft or on the side of your boat. You can even place it in between your boat and dinghy.
The included hose length is 3m but a 3m extension hose is also available as an extra should more length be required.
