Felpham Sailing Club had 24 boats come to the start line of the fourth race of the 2019 Aries Series. The sun shone and the wind blew a bit more than was forecast!

We started the day with a Force 4 gusting Force 5 and ended with a Force 5 gusting Force 6. This was Guy Mayger's (Solo) first outing on the Felpham sea this year & he duly showed the rest of the club how to sail, winning the first race of the day by 53 seconds on corrected time over Jack Miller in his Aero 7.

Catherine Hemsley (Aero 5) finished 3rd, 38 seconds ahead (corrected time) of the first DZero of Callum Aldous. Paul Miller (Phantom) had a great start to the season with a 5th, thanks to a new sail, which we've all been advising him to buy for some time now. First cadet was Tom Twist in his Laser Radial. Commiserations to Ross Fisher (Blaze) who managed to snap his mast.

The wind increased, as did the swell, for the start of the second race of the day, Viking Cup. Once again, Guy Mayger & Jack Miller disappeared in to the distance, followed closely by Richard Bentley (Aero 7).

And so to the final race of the day, race 3 of the Viking Cup. Most sailors headed for shore with tired limbs and cold extremities, only three boats remained: Guy Mayger (Solo), Callum Aldous (DZero) and James Gerwat (DZero).
