Winter will be a distant memory and all the snow will have melted when YDSC holds its first Northern and Scottish Skiff event on the 6/7 April.
YDSC is a large reservoir in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, 147ha of fresh water nearly 1000ft above sea level: good winds are the norm. Our clubhouse has great facilities for sailors and visitors alike, with a walk around the lake being popular. Camping is available on site and is free.
For those who haven't come across the series it is for "skiffs" such as Musto, 49er, 29er, 4000, Vortex, RS500, generally asymmetric trapeze boats, all starting together with results worked out on handicap. The Musto class also uses it as part of their own Northern series.
So, we invite all Northern and Scottish Skiff sailors (in fact all skiffs) to enjoy a lovely piece of water with seven windward-leeward races, good competition, home-made food, and a friendly welcome.
