Shustoke Sailing Club forced to postpone the Gauntlet

Owing to this weekend's forecast for Sunday, Shustoke Sailing Club have decided to postpone the Gauntlet event until Sunday 1 September 2019.

SSC have been reviewing the forecast throughout the week and because the forecasts indicate that we can expect constant winds of 22+kts and gusts in excess of 40kts we believe postponement is the best course of action.

Thank you to those that have entered online and we will be contacting you to offer either a full refund, or at your election will carry forward your entry to the new date.

It was entirely possible to take five places on one shift Sunday the 20th August saw the Merlin Rocket fleet return to Shustoke SC as part of the Merlin Rocket HD Sails Midland Circuit. A good sailing day after a dire forecast! Shustoke Sailing club hosted its first ever Comet Open on Sunday 16th July. There was some doubt, in the days leading up to the event, whether or not the meeting would take place due to the forecast of high winds and thunderstorms.
