A dazzling double - Albacores at the RYA Dinghy Show 2019

Visitors to Albacore stand C81 in the Great Hall of the RYA Dinghy Show this weekend can be forgiven for thinking they are seeing double. That's because there will be not one but two boats on display that at first glance might look the same. However with a closer look they will spot some subtle differences.

Whilst both have an Ovington hull, one, the newly commissioned Class Demo Boat has the matching FRP deck with Ovington fit out, Milanes foils and McNamara sails whilst the other, also brand spanking new has a beautiful James Jarvey wooden deck, P&B sails and has been fitted out by its owner, the Class Chairman.

In a way this demonstrates the versatility of the Albacore especially when you add in the third option of many good second hand wooden boats that are still in active use. And with the launch of the class demo boat there is no excuse not to try one out for yourself!

Either way you can find out more about this great boat from enthusiastic owners on the stand this weekend and that includes Mr 'International Albacore Guru' Barney Harris who is flying in from Washington DC for his first-time-ever Dinghy Show Visit!
