Sofian Bouvet, Corentin Horeau and Bruno Mourniac finished the Sailing Arabia The Tour in fourth place, half a point short of the podium. The Seafloatech crew came in late on the Tour, with only a few sailing sessions under their belt.

However, the Team managed by French sailing legend Lionel Péan quickly adjusted to this event similar to the Tour de France à la voile, and gave the overall winner Beijaflore a real fight for first place. The global feeling, despite a small touch of disappointment remains quite positive with a talented crew clearly on the rise.

Lionel Péan attended Salalah's last venue of Sailing Arabia The Tour. His analysis of those two weeks of hard sailing along the Omani coast remains positive, as the crew, short of practice, behave well both in stadium and coastal races. " The Team quite often took the upper hand over some of France's best Diam24 specialists " says Péan. " We were off a rather slow start, mostly due to a ill prepared rented boat. It took the crew one full leg to adjust and fix the boat. We're short one half point to claim third place but the most important thing is the cohesion we showed all along, and the positive comparison with the leaders. Those two weeks in Oman were very encouraging. "

Sofian Bouvet shares Lionel's point of view; " The crew worked as a team. We get along perfectly both on the boat and on shore. We do not feel in any case inferior to any of our toughest opponents. Once we recover our own boat, we shall perform even better. " Both Corentin and Bruno back this assumption. " We showed speed and ease in all situations... We started slow, but came out stronger every day, ahead of the leaders to a large extent. "

Sofian Bouvet leaves Oman full of confidence. Along Bruno and Corentin, he shall start without delay a new training session aboard the original Seafloatech Diam24. The team is now looking forward to the next major event, the Tour de France à la voile in july. Team manager Péan still looks for partners interested to share with the team the excitement of the Tour, a major summer event that attracts large media coverage.
