The RYA Dinghy Show 2019 is less than a month away. Here's what's on for clubs at the Show...

Club briefing

By popular demand, the free RYA Club Briefing will also be back. Hosted on Saturday (02 March) at 10:30, it's your chance to hear the latest club updates from RYA experts. Tea and coffee will be available for attendees from 10:00. Each club can book up to two places and each attendee will receive a complimentary ticket to the show at the end of the Briefing. Ask the experts

The Show is a brilliant opportunity to chat with many of the RYA experts including our Regional Development Officers (RDOs) who will be happy to answer any club related questions as well as providing advice on getting out on the water.

RYA Legal Manager, Mandy Peters will be on hand to discuss GDPR and other club related issues. Alongside RYA representatives from racing services, training and various other programmes who will be able to offer advice; from the Portsmouth Yardstick, volunteering, becoming a race official and the new foiling training courses; to how to run a successful Push the Boat Out event and much more...

What's on?

As well as a brand new line up of expert speakers and Q&A sessions with sailing legends and industry experts on the Main Stage and Knowledge Zone, the popular Sailor's Corner will be making a comeback along with the return of the Women's Sailing Hub and Class Association Stage.

With more than 170 exhibitors and interactive activities on offer, including the activity pool which will be making a comeback for 2019, there will be enough to keep you busy for the whole weekend.

Highlights from the stages

  • Be inspired by Team UK Invictus Games sailors; Andrew 'Pav' Taylor and Sadie Melling as they share their life-changing Invictus experience (Main Stage, Saturday 11:45).
  • Roger Barnes the Dinghy Cruising expert with over 150,000 followers on YouTube find out what it is that is captivating so many people (Main Stage,11:15).
  • British Sailing Team Meteorologist, Simon Rowell shares his wisdom on how to get a good forecast and how to apply it (Main Stage, Saturday 13:30, Sunday 14:30).
  • Can anyone really foil? Dinghy foiling coach, Paul Outram; and instructor, Phoebe Twigg; talk about first time foiling and how getting airborne might be easier than you think (Main Stage, Saturday 14:15, Sunday 12:45).
  • Dinghy historian, David Henshall will be looking back and exploring 90 years of continuous innovation 'The Story of the International Moth' on Sunday (Main Stage, 13:45).
  • In the Knowledge Zone, Olympians Saskia Clark, Paul Brotherton and Simon Hiscocks will all be sharing their expertise and British Sailing Team, Laser sailor, Sam Whaley will be demonstrating how to get the most out of your Laser.
