Nominations are now open for the 2019 RYA Regional Youth Champion Awards.

Launched in 2014, the RYA Regional Youth Champion Awards recognise the outstanding achievement and performance of talented young people in sailing, windsurfing and powerboating.

The awards are a fantastic opportunity for clubs and class associations, as well as individuals, to reward those making an impact through performance and dedication recognising the rising stars of the future.

RYA Director of Sport Development, Alistair Dickson said: "We are pleased to once again open the nomination process for the RYA Regional Youth Champion Awards. It's an honour to be able to reward individuals who have demonstrated hard work, commitment and determination to succeed in their sport.

"It goes without saying, that this is also an opportunity to thank those behind the scenes offering support and guidance. This includes parents, guardians, coaches, club officials, volunteers and of course friends, without you none of this would be possible."

To make your nomination visit rya.org.uk/go/youthchampion.

Nominees must have shown success on the racecourse, whether at local, national or international level. Nominations can be made by clubs, class associations, organisations or individuals.

Those nominated must have been under 19 years of age on 31st December 2018.

From the nominations received, each of the RYA's regional committees will select a regional winner.

All award recipients and their families will be invited to the RYA Dinghy Show in association with Yachts & Yachting and Suzuki, for the official awards ceremony on 03 March 2019.

Nominations will close on 28 January 2019.
