First speakers announced for the RYA Dinghy Show 2019

The RYA Dinghy Show in association with Yachts & Yachting and Suzuki will be returning to Alexandra palace on 02-03 March 2019. The RYA are delighted to announce the first round of expert speakers set to share their knowledge on the Show's five stages throughout the weekend.
Once again, the Main Stage and Knowledge Zone will boast a full line up of talks, Q&A sessions and demonstrations with sailing legends and industry experts. The popular Sailor's Corner will also be making a comeback along with the return of the Women's Sailing Hub and Class Association Stage.
On the Main Stage
The 2019 Show theme is #MyDinghyTribe, celebrating the diversity within the dinghy sailing community. Rob Andrews will be getting the tribal theme started on the Main Stage with 2019 Show hosts; Shirley Robertson, Matt Sheahan and Annie Lush as they talk 'Tribes and Trends' (Saturday 11:00, Sunday 10:30).
Be inspired by adventures had, and challenges overcome, as Team UK Invictus Games sailors; Andrew 'Pav' Taylor and Sadie Melling share their life-changing Invictus experience (Saturday 11:45) and students from Greig City Academy discuss what's next for Project Scaramouche (Sunday 12:00).
For the dinghy cruisers; Roger Barnes, The Dinghy Cruising Companion and President of the Dinghy Cruising Association, will be talking about his latest dinghy cruising adventures and advice for those getting ready for another amazing year of cruising on Sunday (11:15).
Whether you're a cruiser or a racer, you'll be interested to hear about weather forecasting for successful sailing. British Sailing Team's Meteorologist, Simon Rowell will be sharing how to get a good weather forecast quickly and explaining how to apply it locally (Saturday 13:30, Sunday 14:30).
Foiling is a relatively new, but fast growing tribe, however for many, the thrill of flying above the water feels ambitious to say the least. So can anyone really foil? Dinghy foiling coach, Paul Outram; and instructor, Phoebe Twigg; talk about first time foiling and how getting airborne might be easier than you think (Saturday 14:15, Sunday 12:45).
The International Moth is one of the most well-known foiling dinghies, but why is the high performance boat so popular? Dinghy historian, David Henshall will be looking back and exploring 90 years of continuous innovation 'The Story of the International Moth' on Sunday (13:45).
Get the Knowledge
Improve your sailing, whatever your experience, with interactive coaching and demonstrations from the experts throughout the weekend in the 'Knowledge Zone'.
Olympians Saskia Clark, Paul Brotherton and Simon Hiscocks will all be sharing their expertise and British Sailing Team, Laser sailor, Sam Whaley will be demonstrating how to get the most out of your Laser.
Returning favourites
Alongside new speakers for 2019, longstanding Dinghy Show favourites will also be returning to give you the know-how. In the Knowledge Zone, don't miss rig tuning with Michael McNamara (11:00 both days) and top racing tips from 'the boat whisperer', Steve Cockerill (Sunday 15:00).
Double Olympic silver medallist, Volvo Ocean Race winner and RYA Director of Racing, Ian Walker will also be returning to the Main Stage with a Tokyo 2020 update (Saturday 15:00, Sunday 15:15).

RYA clubs and large groups can also take advantage of a special discount price of £10.00 when booking six tickets or more. For those wanting a bit more of the action, discounted weekend tickets are available at £15.00 for RYA members and £18.75 for non-members.
