Lymington Town Sailing Club Winter Series - Day 6

There was a good turn out for the Lymington Town Sailing Club winter series race 6 despite the cold overcast conditions. The fast handicap got away to a four-lap triangular course on time, but the large medium fleet were too enthusiastic with most of the fleet over the short line well before the start time the race officer postponed their start.

After a delay to get the fleet back and change the start line the medium fleet made a clean start. Enjoying the fresh conditions, the Merlin Rocket sailed by David and Vicky Lenz and the Scorpion sailed by Ryan Buchanan and Alex Hayman quickly established themselves at the front of the medium fleet.

At the finish after three laps David and Vicky had extended their lead and were 1 minute 28 second ahead of Ryan and Alex when the results were calculated, with the Merlin Rocket sailed by John Cooper and Becci Wigley third. Nigel King sailing his Phantom for the first time was the first non-spinnaker boat in forth.

In the fast handicap fleet Nigel Walbank lead the way round in his Musto Skiff with Richard Lilley second and Richard Keeton third sailing RS700s.
