Dragonforce65 Commodores Cup at Ripon Sailing Club

Traditionally run during the clubs "Commodore's Weekend" the DF65 RC Yacht Commodore's Cup was this year held on Wednesday 14th November, nine yachts gathered on the start line in what can only be described as variable conditions, a strong Southerly that shifted and died during the course of the racing provided some very close and competitive racing.

Most helms elected to race with the A rig which although overpowered at times was the best choice for the wind and wave conditions.

George Dines managed to keep out of trouble to take three race wins and record a net score of 12 points to take the overall win with Bert Down very close behind on 13 points in second place and Ian Smith a further 8 points behind in third place, last year's overall winner Jim Haddock could only manage fourth place but his score line did include two race wins.

Thanks to Keith Wilding for recording the results, not an easy task as there was often less than a second or two between the finishing yachts.
