d'ALbora announces that it has purchased two new state of the art Wiggins Marina Bull forklifts for deployment at its Akuna Bay and Pier 35 dry storage facilities.

With a combined total of over 450 dry storage berths, customers using these facilities will receive significant benefit from the addition of the new forklifts.

Already in operation, Akuna Bay has a fully customised machine to service the unique operating conditions, The W1.3 Marina Bull will be the heaviest lifting forklift of its class and size in the country able to Lift a 4.5 tonne 8m Long vessel and turn in a radius under 13m. To ensure completely uninterrupted service to its customers, the Wiggins will be supported by a second recently upgraded machine. With the addition of the new Marina Bull Akuna Bay dry storage is perfectly positioned to provide high level customer service and tight turnarounds on vessel launch and retrieval.

For Pier 35, a larger W3.2 Marina Bull will be on site, early November 2018, capable of Lifting vessels up to 10 tonne and 11m in length. The W3.2 further adds to the Pier 35 services and capabilities by maintaining full redundancy and ensuring the dry storage services can be relied on throughout the peak periods.

"These are exciting times for d'ALbora dry storage facilities at Akuna Bay NSW and Pier 35 Victoria." said Suzanne Davies, CEO d'ALbora Marinas. "The decision to purchase Wiggins was driven by their reputation for solid engineering and reliability. The demands on these machines can be extremely high in peak summer periods so dependability is crucial to ensuring our customers' vessels are smoothly and safely Launched and retrieved." added Davies.

This investment, in improved infrastructure, is just the beginning for Balmain and d'ALbora as part of the new $50,000,000 capital works/expansion programme across all the marinas including rebuilds of aging maritime facilities at Akuna Bay, Rushcutters Bay and Nelson Bay.
