Update for Gul Allspars Final Fling from Regatta Director

Unfortunately the weather forecast for Saturday the 13th is pretty dire and forced our hand somewhat with only a slim chance of getting a race in late on in the afternoon. After much deliberation we have made the decision to cancel racing for the Saturday based on the current forecast BUT racing will go ahead as planned on Sunday.

Registration will therefore be open all day on Saturday until the Allspars Happy Hour and the entry fee reduced to £20! Anyone who has already paid the entry fee will receive a £10 bar voucher as a refund. Registration on the Sunday will be open 8.00am to 8.30am.

The decision has been made so that entrants can enjoy the many sights and activities during the day on Saturday while the wind blows, before returning to RWYC Plymouth for the competitor briefing at 5.30pm before the Allspars Happy Hour from 6pm with food available from 5pm – 8pm. Proceeding the main event of the evening, a talk from Sailing Legend Mike McNamara.

Things you may like to consider doing on Saturday prior to Happy Hour:

Take a walk around Plymouth Barbican where many of the city's top attractions can be found, from National Marine Aquarium – home to the biggest fish tank in Europe, through to the famous Plymouth Gin Distillery and family friendly Barbican Leisure Park which includes Vue cinema, there is lots to see and do for all ages! The Plymouth Barbican is oozing with history and heritage. Amongst the stunning architecture, you can find many great places to eat, drink and be entertained as well as vast array of independent shops and art galleries.

Maybe some shopping at Drake Circus Mall with shops including Joules, Hotel Chocolat, Smiggle, Waterstones and many more.

Or if you fancy something completely different the Moscow State Circus are in Central Park (next to the Plymouth Life Centre) with discounted tickets available using the promotional leaflet found in RWYC and a performance at 3pm which will see you safely entertained before an evening of fun back with us.

We look forward to your attendance for another fantastic Final Fling!
