The 420 class enjoyed another great day of racing at their National Championships, which are being hosted by Brightlingsea Sailing Club.
Day 3 brought sunshine, a welcome change from the heavy rain and strong winds of day 2, and the fleet were soon lining up on the slipway ready to get out and enjoy the conditions off St Osyphs. Whilst it might have looked somewhat calmer in the creek, the word from the bay was that it was 'a tad lumpy'!
Visitors from the USA, Will/Ian claimed Race 5, with Rhys/Drew claiming back the line honours in races 6 and 7. Adele/Dan took race 8.
With one discard cutting in after race 4 Rhys and Dan ended the day in first place overall on 15 points, with Will and Ian in 2nd place on 28 points. Ross and Niamh are in hot pursuit on 34 points. All to play for on day 4, and with lighter winds forecast it's anyone's guess who's going to top the leader board for the final day's races.
Tonight the fleet are enjoying their annual Black Tie Dinner and Disco at the club.
