If it's not the biggest turnout ever, it's certainly a very international class championship that started for the 500s Tuesday in Weymouth. Looking at the results you will see how the battle between teams & nations is hot in the top 20 boats.

Another word also to compliment the teams welcome from the class staff, the RS Sailing staff and WNSPA that make everybody so comfortable when landing in this awesome venue.

On to the action on the water!

It's been intense as you would imagine, 50 teams impatient to get up to the first mark in a smart position doesn't leave room to any mistake or last minute adjustment. It was outside the harbour for the first day, in a 10/12 knots of breeze, Pim / Lisa & Tim / Heather did there job as former 500 world champion to set up the standard and come up equal points with 1/3 & 3/1 just ahead of Steve/Sarah Cockerill (who seems to be jumping from one boat to an other, never giving up a podium spot) then Italian - Swedish and a remarkable 6th spot for Harry (10 years old!) and James George. Harry & Dad not being stress by rounding marks in top five with world class sailors.

Day 2 was in the Harbour, for 4 races starting light in 6/8 Knts finishing in good 12 knots. Strong job from the race committee to make all that happen. Again, the previous day's contender where up there and regular in the top 5 with 4 different race winners. The first one was for the Italian team of the Roncuzzi Brothers, the second one was for the French Team Nico & Thomas Honor. The third and fourth went to UK with the Rooster team and then Tim / Heather showed a strong pace on the last one.

So after six races the first (dutch team of Pim / Lisa) has a 4 points lead to Tim/Heather – Nico/ Thomas & the Cockerills tied in 19 points, all to play as it's so close racing...

At every stage of the ranking the battle is as hot as in the top ten, Harry has been brave again keeping in 12th position.

Time now to get in some socials, with the dutch Armada organising the dancefloor and the RS Sailing gang on the drums and playing DJ, it's promised to be as intense ashore as at sea!
