The final two days produced similar conditions to earlier in the week with consistency proving elusive for all but the top boats. 80 degrees, light winds and significant chop / swell made for beautiful conditions to go sailing, but for most the racing could best be described, again, as challenging.
Highlights from the team included a 2nd and 7th on the penultimate day from Eleanor Keers and Aaron Chadwick and Niamh Harper and Ross Thompson winning the final race to finish the regatta in style for team GBR!
Overall, a fantastic experience to visit and sail in one of the "homes of sailing", against competitors from 18 countries - huge thanks to coaches Neil Marsden, Annabel Cattermole and Ben Hazeldine, as well as all the 420 class team and parents for getting the sailors and boats to the event.
Most of the sailors will be at the UK Nationals at Brightlingsea over the bank holiday weekend and then the class will run a great programme of open training and racing events during the winter with teams no doubt already thinking about the next world championships in Vilamoura, Portugal next July!
