In 2004 we developed our Power medium radial sail, which Ben Saxton used to win every race at the End of Season Champs. We then flattened and eased the leech shaping to improve the all round performance of what was already a very quick sail. James Grant used this design to win the junior section of the Nationals. His Brother Steven finished second using our crosscut power flat design.
This winter we have been busy tweaking and smoothing our designs all in the name of greater speed. We have looked at the efficiency of the corner reinforcing, our new concave patterns mean that the natural depth of the seam shaping is enhanced and improved.
Recently we have been working closely with the sailcloth manufacturers to make sure that we have the best cloths available for our sails. We are currently testing our power medium radial sails with a medium firm finish fabric. Early results suggest that the new cloth makes the sail easier to use through out the full range of sailing conditions. We will test the sail further to make sure that it pasts the longevity test before adding it to the P&B range.
