Michael Forbes from Helensburgh and Charlie Chandler from Solihull, have claimed the next two spots on the 2019 ilovesailing calendar, leaving just four more places up for grabs.

As well as claiming their spot on the 2019 calendar Michael and Charlie also win:

  • Two tickets to The Yachtmarket.com Southampton Boat Show for the official prize giving
  • Canvas print of their winning entry
  • A copy of the final printed calendar
  • A selection of RYA goodies
  • And of course the much loved ilovesailing rubber duck – which this year is black to match the calendar's black and white theme.
Charlie's winning shot entitled 'June sunshine 2018' was taken at Chase Sailing Club and shows Eden Hyland and Issy Tate GP14 club racing preparing for the upcoming GP14 worlds. Charlie commented: "It's fantastic to win the competition! We've had such fantastic sailing weather recently, it's been great to capture the moment on film. I look forward to seeing the final calendar."

While our second winner Michael, whose photo is entitled '"Impulsive" in the Sound of Jura', commented: "I'm delighted my image is appreciated and my attempts to improve my photography are bearing fruit.

"The image was taken in the Sound of Jura, West of Scotland. A fantastic day of sun, wind and sea spray. We were sailing our own boat in company with my friend on 'Impulsive', and I took some shots so he could have a photo of his boat in a sea. Most people don't have images of their boats sailing, especially in a breeze. There is a wee bit of post processing in 'Lightroom' to achieve the monochrome and colour pop."

Once more the judge's deliberated long and hard to pick just two winners, with Michael and Charlie's pictures being picked from amongst the 57 stunning images submitted during June. "The calibre of entries never ceases to amaze the judging panel", commented Emma Slater, ilovesailing co-ordinator. "Choosing just two each month is increasingly difficult but the judges felt that both Michael and Charlie's pictures would make great additions to the calendar."

From dinghy cruising to yacht racing, family days out to regattas, whatever kind of sailing you love, share your favourite sailing photos and you could win a place on the 2019 ilovesailing calendar.

Two winners will be picked each month between March and July to represent a different month on the 2019 calendar, with the final two spots being selected in August from all the other entries made between March and July, giving all entrants two chances of winning.

All you have to do to take part is post your favourite sailing photo(s) on to the ilovesailing Facebook page or email your entry to emma.slater@rya.org.uk, it's that easy. Winners will be notified via Facebook and/or email.

Entrants can supply multiple images and can take enter in more than one month. In keeping with this year's black and white theme all images need to be black and white, although spot colour may also be considered. By submitting a photograph, entrants agree that their images maybe used for marketing and promotional purposes. If selected, entrants will be asked to confirm they have permission to share the photo from any individuals visible in the photograph. Full terms and conditions available here, click on 'About'.

The 2019 calendars will go on sale at the 2018 TheYachtMarket.com Southampton Boat Show in September, with the first 50 people to purchase a copy also receiving a FREE 2018 black ilovesailing rubber duck.
