Good forecast conditions greeted local and visiting crews, all set for five competitive races in the next event in the SEAS calendar.

Race 1 got underway with a clean start into a 10kt westerly ideal for Weir Wood. Early leaders XX fell foul of fluky conditions mid race and were overhauled by 4 boats with victory going to Chris and Nicki Webber, closely followed by locals John Ramshaw and Mark Harrington.

Straight into the second race which almost led from start to finish by Paul Cullen from WWSC with youth crew Theo Gumbley, only to be overhauled at the final gate by David Jessop and Sophie Mear with a very tight finish to the line.

Time for lunch then back out on the course for 3 short races, which even saw some brief planing in the gusts. Despite good starts from Andrew and Gill Peters, pure boat-speed, particularly downwind, saw David and Sophie win the final 3 races and victory overall. Second place went to Andrew and Gill, with Chris and Nicki third. So a 1, 2 for Queen Mary and 3 for Pevensey Bay.
