Weekend #2 of the British CR:X Kite Race Series has been completed at The Watersports Academy, Poole with the support of Bournemouth and Poole Kitesurf Club. Riders and racers from across the country came together for another weekend of action on and off the water.

The weekend kicked off on Friday with a Foil clinic organised by Easy Riders giving kiters the opportunity to learn foiling under expert guidance. In total nine riders progressed their foil riding and are now looking to race their CR:X foils for the rest of the season.

Saturday followed with light winds giving the competitors time to review the CR:X equipment while waiting for the wind to fill in. In the afternoon light wind allowed some to get on the water. The day was rounded off by a fantastic South African Braai BBQ featuring the famous Boerewors sausage.

We were greeted by beautiful weather on Sunday and a promised forecast of 12 knots by the afternoon. By 1200 the wind filled in and all the competitors took to the water. With a full schedule and limited time, rather than running formal races, the race committee and riders decided that everyone should hit the water and master their foil skills.

"While we may not have got a full set of results from this event, we are delighted that everyone got on the water, progressed their foiling and had a great time. A big thank you to The Watersports Academy and Bournmouth and Poole Kitesurf Club for their support and we look forwards to welcoming everyone back at Southend-On-Sea next month." Jack Ridel – Chairman British CR:X Class Association

"We had a great weekend hosting CR:X at The Watersports Academy. It was a pleasure seeing the racers on the water and to be a part of such a great event. I look forwards to watching the class and series develop and we are already talking about 2019." Dave Hartwell - The Watersports Academy Principal

The RESTUBE prize was given out to James Gore for his enthusiasm being the first on the water, and the CR:X Club prize was given to the RAF Kite Club for having the most members on the water at one time!
