RS Tera sailors took the top awards in both fleets at the annual 2018 U11 IAPS National Schools Sailing Championships at the 2012 Olympic sailing venue, the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy.

Tera sailors William James and Josh John-Ringe in the performance class sailing an RS Feva and Ollie Williams and Poppy Kilpatrick sailing RS's latest boat the Zest amongst the nearly 100 other sailors. William James said "Its great to see Tera sailors taking the top places here and nice to go to events where my friends who I have made from sailing are competing."

Grey skies, rain and very strong winds in excess of twenty knots made cancellation look like a certainty. But with the fleets making their way in very challenging conditions to the starting area the starting sequence began on time. For both classes all four races were completed, with St.Peter's School in Lympstone winning the performance class and Churcher's College Junior School taking the top spot in the Zest class.

The RS Tera is one of the UK's fastest growing classes of boats suitable for children from eight years of age and has recently received recognition from the RYA as the ideal pathway boat for aspiring sailors to follow their Olympic aspirations with great regional training that is certainly paying off.
