Ullswater Yacht Club Single Hander Weekend - Preview

The first of Ullswater Yacht Club's new-look open weekends which is aimed at solo sailors, will be held on May 26 & 27. The Single Hander Weekend welcomes entries from all conventional single handers, it is also part of the Laser Lakeland and Border Grand Prix Series and the RS Aero Northern Circuit.

The club has revamped its open meeting programme for 2018 with three new weekend events aimed at specific classes. The open for Conventional Single Handers will followed by two days of racing for Cruisers & Keelboats on August 25 & 26 and an Asymmetric Classes event on October 20 & 21

"The aim is to concentrate all our efforts and resources on big events which will be an attraction for visitors in a wide range of classes and ensure that the weekends are well supported," said UYC Sailing Secretary Jon Abbatt. "For the Single Hander Weekend we will be pleased to have entries from all conventional single handed classes".

Seven races are planned over two days, with Saturday's first warning signal not before 12.30pm and Sunday's first warning signal not before 10.30am. Camping/ campervans on site, sorry no caravans. Bar and refreshments all weekend and Saturday night entertainment.
