RYA leads the way for female instructors to take flight

The RYA is excited to announce its first ever 'Girls Only' Foil Training Weekend for female instructors!

This amazing opportunity to learn to SAILFoil or WINDFoil takes place this month on the weekend of 19/20 May at Andrew Simpson Watersports Centre in Weymouth.

Places are limited and are available on a first-come first-served basis, so book quickly!

Here is what's on offer:

SAILfoil Training:

  • Who's it for?: RYA Dinghy Instructors wishing to experience foiling for the first time or develop their current foiling knowledge.
  • Location: Andrew Simpson Watersports Centre, Weymouth.
  • Cost: £295 per person (for 2 days) **special RYA course cost**
  • Stay: Meals and accommodation will need to be booked and paid for separately. There is limited availability at RYA Portland House, so if you would like accommodation contact Debbie Woof () as soon as possible.
  • To book: Call Andrew Simpson Watersports Centre in Weymouth directly on 01305 457400.

WINDfoil Training:

  • Who's it for?: RYA StartWindsurfing Instructors, with a personal level of intermediate planing, wishing to experience foiling for the first time or develop their current foiling knowledge.
  • Location: The Official Test Centre (OTC) in Portland, Weymouth
  • Cost: £150 per person (for 2 days). Payments must be made directly to Tris Best at OTC. T: 01305 230296. E:
  • Stay: Meals and accommodation are not included – these will need to be organised, booked, and paid for separately. There is limited availability at RYA Portland House, so contact Debbie Woof () as soon as possible to book.
