Pinnell & Bax Mirror development continues

Last year P&B sails had a great year in the Mirror class with Pete Gray winning two area Championships and the Inlands and John & Jamie Clementson winning an area Championship as well as finishing second in the Pre Worlds and third at the Worlds.
Last years development programme was aimed at making sails that would perform in the relatively flat conditions expected in Sweden. This year things are moving on. The UK class recently voted on adopting one-piece alloy masts, the UK class has adopted this mast and awaits ratification form
ISAF. To stay ahead of the game P&B already have a Superspar and a Proctor mast to test this new breed of sails on. Initial tests have shown that the masts are stiffer up top than the traditional gaffs. We have developed a new mainsail to fit these spars. It has a flatter luff line and we have tweaked the seams to suit.
Pete Gray tested design one at Rutland National Youth Squad training with very positive results. "Higher and Faster Upwind"
P&B are going to continue our development programme using both the advantage of having Pete Gray in house and our close tie with the Clementsons to ensure that we stay ahead of the fleet.
