Seldén Dinghy Sponsorship supports campaign against Single Use Plastic Bottles

In 2018, Seldén Mast Ltd will be supporting more dinghy classes and more sailors than ever before and at the same time will be assisting in the fight against single use plastic bottles.
With a view to being able to support more individual class events this year, Seldén has opted to provide reusable branded water bottles to entrants. The new branded 750ml sports grip durable water bottles are recyclable and BPA free. Not only does this mean that Seldén can reach more sailors but offers a solution to the continued use of disposable plastic bottles.
"We decided to produce branded items for individual sailors as oppose to offering one off, more expensive prizes to sponsor the many dinghy sailing events as it enables Seldén to support more classes and more events". Steve Norbury, Seldén's Managing Director explains.
"The decision to produce reusable water bottles was taken as they are something that every sailor needs whilst out on the race course on a hot day. But more than that, as we are sailors who spend a great deal of time on the water we wanted to do something that would help combat the growing issue of plastic pollution in the sea – a large amount of which is made up of plastic bottles," continued Mr Norbury.
Seldén's new approach to class support comes shortly after Seldén announced that they will be the title sponsors of the SailJuice Winter Series demonstrating their commitment to encouraging the growth of, and participation in, dinghy sailing.
The water bottles are available to any class that uses a Seldén rig and is holding a class event in the UK during 2018.
